 Green Card Marriage

Q. I entered into a "business" marriage to get my green card. At interview, I was caught and my application was denied. Now we have genuine affection for each other. Can I get permanent resident based on this marriage?

A. My guess is that the INS will deny any applications you make based on your marriage. The law prohibits you from getting permanent resident based on any petition if you and your husband entered into a marriage "for the purpose of evading the immigration laws." If your "feelings had changed" before your interview, the INS might have approved your case. At this point you'll have a hard time getting the INS to approve your application.
