Q. My fiancé has a criminal record. If we marry, can he petition for me for permanent residence?

A. If you marry, you husband's criminal record shouldn't impact your application for permanent residence. He's already a US citizen, and the INS can't do anything about that. You are the applicant. It's your record the INS is concerned about.
