Salted Fish

There was once a man, who was excessively frugal about food. He did not even give any good food to his sons. One day for dinner they had rice without any dishes. The elder boy said, "Pa, are we having any any dishes?"

"Yes, of course. Why? Is the salted fish hanging on the wall not a fish?" said the father. "You can have a mouthful of rise and look once at the salted fish on the wall.

Suddenly the younger brother yelled, "Pa, elder brother had a mouthful of rise and looked at the salted fish several times."

"Let him die of salt, then," said the man resentfully.l
