A Miser

There was a miser who never entertained any guests. One day his next-door neighbor used his place to hold a party, some people hearing of this asked the miser's servant, "Is it true that your master is really going to entertain guests?"

"If you think my master is going to do it, well, you'll just have to wait until the next life."

A few days later, learning what the servant had said, the miser scolded the servant, "Who allowed you to ask that fellow to have dinner in my home in the next life?"
